More than one treatment, planned together, to change your whole smile rather than a single tooth. A makeover might combine whitening, some bonding, a few veneers or straightening, worked out around your face. We show you the plan and the cost before anything starts.

Treatment Overview
What Is a Smile Makeover?
A smile makeover simply means more than one cosmetic treatment planned together, so the result looks right as a whole rather than one tooth at a time. Instead of treating a single problem, we look at your smile all together: the colour, the shape of the teeth, how even they are, and the gaps between them.
Every makeover is different, because it is built around your teeth and what you want to change. One person might need whitening and a little bonding. Another might have a few veneers, or start with clear aligners to straighten the teeth before any cosmetic work. Where a tooth is heavily damaged, a crown might form part of the plan too.
We plan it around your face, then show you the steps and the total cost before we start. Nothing is booked until you are happy with the plan. Because a makeover can involve a few treatments over a few weeks or months, we take it at a pace that suits you, and you can spread the work rather than do everything at once.
This is where a lot of nervous patients surprise themselves. People who have avoided the dentist for years often come to us for a smile they can feel good about, and the same gentle care runs through every step: longer appointments, The Wand for almost pain-free injections, and a hand to hold if you want one.
A makeover might include

Veneers to change the shape or colour of teeth

Book your appointment
A new patient examination is £92,
including any X-rays you need. We can check whether bonding suits you at the same visit.
Before anything else, we ask what you would change about your smile. Bring a photo of how you would like to look if it helps. If you are nervous, tell us, it changes how we do things.
02
A health check first
We make sure your teeth and gums are healthy before any cosmetic work, because a makeover only lasts if the foundations are sound. This is where hygiene treatment or a filling might come first.
03
A plan you can see
We plan your smile around your face and talk you through the options. Where it helps, we can use digital smile to show you what the result could look like before any treatment begins. You get the steps and the total cost in writing.
04
Your makeover, at your pace
We carry out the plan in a sensible order, at a pace that suits you. Whitening and bonding can often be done soon. Veneers have a lab stage, so they take a few weeks. Straightening, if you need it, usually comes first.
Longer appointments, so we can talk through your concerns and give you a break if you need one.
Almost pain-free injections
The Wand numbs you without the big needle or the sting. Most patients are surprised how easy it is.
Digital X-rays
We diagnose faster, more accurately and with far less radiation than older film.
A hand to hold
Bring a partner in, or hold a nurse's hand. If you ever need us, we respond the same day.
About Waterside Dental
Your private dental practicein Hythe.
Waterside Dental is a private practice in Hythe, owned and led by principal dentist Dr Nikos Louskos since 2017. It has recently been refurbished to feel more like home than a clinic, and is run by a small, hand-picked team — so you'll always see a familiar face.
Care here is unhurried and patient-led. Appointments are longer so concerns can be talked through properly, treatment is explained in plain language, and nothing is rushed — with breaks during longer procedures whenever you need them.
We welcome private patients from Hythe and across Southampton — whether you're registering as a new patient or visiting for a single course of treatment while staying with your current dentist.
"I firmly believe that dentistry doesn't have to be unpleasant or scary, and that often it can be life-changing."

Frequently Asked Questions
Questions patientsask us.
A few of the things patients ask us most often. If your question isn't here, just get in touch — we're happy to talk it through.
It just means more than one cosmetic treatment planned together, so the result looks right as a whole rather than one tooth at a time. It might combine whitening, some bonding and a couple of veneers, for example. We plan it around your face, then show you the steps and the total cost before we start.
Whatever suits your smile. Common parts of a makeover are whitening, composite bonding, porcelain or composite veneers, and clear aligners to straighten teeth first. Where a tooth is heavily damaged, a crown might be part of the plan. We only include what you actually need.
Often, yes. Where it helps, we can use digital smile design, which uses photos and software to plan your new smile so you can get a sense of the result before any treatment begins. We will explain whether it suits your case at your consultation.
It depends on which treatments are in your plan. Some makeovers are done in a few weeks, others take longer, especially if straightening or veneers are involved. We give you a realistic timescale as part of your written plan, so you know what to expect.
No. We can phase the work over time so it fits your life and your budget. We will suggest a sensible order, usually getting the teeth healthy first, then building up the cosmetic changes from there.
That is the aim. We plan the makeover around your face and match the colour, shape and size of the teeth so the result looks like a better version of your own smile, not an obviously false one. You have a say in the look before we start.
Yes, and many of our makeover patients came to us nervous after years away from the dentist. Tell us when you book. Longer appointments, The Wand for almost pain-free injections, and a calm, familiar team make it far easier than people expect.
There is no single price, because every makeover is different. We give you an itemised total in writing after your consultation, with each step priced separately, so you always know where you stand. You can spread the cost with finance or our Practice Plan.
Whether you'd like to book or just have a question about treatment, send us a message and a member of the team will get back to you — the same day wherever we can.
